Come Serve With Us!!!

Salkehatchie Summer Program – Salkehatchie Summer Service is a pioneering servant ministry at selected sites in South Carolina involving high school and college age youth, adult community leaders and persons of different cultures in upgrading housing, motivating community cooperative efforts by helping persons to help themselves, and providing all participants with opportunities for personal growth and service.  Bethel holds a Summer Camp each year in June where campers work on houses in our community.

Free Lunch Wednesdays – A Soup Kitchen is open Wednesdays at 12:00 throughout the year in our fellowship hall. Volunteers serves hot meals.

The United Methodist Women –United Methodist Women interpret the biblical passage from Luke 4:18 as both a model and a mandate for Christian social action and advocacy: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”  There are many opportunities to serve in this group. They meet at different member’s houses on the second Tuesday of each month.

Other opportunities to serve include working with the children’s ministry, Operation Christmas Child, working at the Annual Bar-B-Q fundraiser, and in various other mission fields in our community.
